The extensive flat roof stops the sun from shining directly into the house, while the villas floor-to-ceiling windows fully open and allow natures sounds to enter while you’re preparing a quick lunch or chilling after a day at the beach.
Casa da Oliveira has 4 suites, each with a private outdoor space, automatic black out blinds and plenty of storage to hang clothes. 3 of the suites have single beds (that can be joined), 1 has a king size bed. The bathrooms all have rain showers.
The property also has an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after a beach day. And - important - there is mosquito protection everywhere! The living room has a big dining table where 8 people can easily sit together to enjoy a meal. On the outside terrace that blends in with the indoor living room there is another more rustic outdoor dining table. And there are plenty of lounge chairs, and many cozy corners to enjoy that cocktail.
The entrance of the property is a carport that can park 2 cars.
The whole house is orientated towards the rice fields, away from the street. Although there are next door neighbours, privacy is guaranteed from all corners of the house. The architecture blends in with nature and the inside merges with the outside, even in winter when the window wall is closed.
This house was designed by GSS Arquitectos and was nominated by Arch Daily in 2022 as Building of the Year.
The neatly square shaped pool fits in perfectly with the rest of the garden that is a sandy, clean, well maintained Mediterranean garden with lavender, jasmine, rosemary and a beautiful olive tree.
